दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी emerging powers में गिने जाने वाले BRICS इस बार एक ऐसे मुद्दे पर एकजुट नहीं दिखे, जिस पर पूरी दुनिया की नजर थी — West Asia war.
India की chairmanship में हुई BRICS MENA (Middle East and North Africa) meeting के बाद सबको उम्मीद थी कि एक strong joint statement आएगा। लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हुआ।
अब सवाल ये है: 👉 आखिर BRICS के अंदर ऐसा क्या हुआ कि consensus ही नहीं बन पाया?

आखिर हुआ क्या?
India में 24 अप्रैल को BRICS Deputy Foreign Ministers और special envoys की meeting हुई। चर्चा का main topic था West Asia conflict — खासकर Iran, Israel और wider regional tension.
लेकिन meeting खत्म होने के बाद कोई joint statement जारी नहीं हुआ। उसकी जगह सिर्फ “Chair’s Summary” जारी की गई।
India के MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal ने साफ कहा कि member countries के बीच “general consensus” नहीं बन पाया।

BRICS के अंदर disagreement क्यों हुआ?
यही सबसे interesting part है।
आज का BRICS पहले वाला BRICS नहीं है।
अब इसमें सिर्फ India, China, Russia, Brazil और South Africa नहीं हैं।
Expansion के बाद:
Iran
UAE
Egypt
Ethiopia जैसे नए members भी जुड़ चुके हैं।
और problem यहीं शुरू होती है।

Iran vs UAE: BRICS के अंदर ही अलग camps?
West Asia conflict में Iran और UAE की priorities अलग हैं।
China और Russia का अपना geopolitical angle है।
India balancing diplomacy खेल रहा है।
ऐसे में एक single statement बनाना आसान नहीं था।
कुछ reports के मुताबिक language और wording को लेकर भी disagreement था।

India की position क्या है?
India ने officially कहा कि:
Palestine पर उसकी policy unchanged है
लेकिन BRICS members के बीच agreement नहीं बन पाया
मतलब India openly किसी camp में नहीं जाना चाहता।
ये वही “strategic balancing” approach है जो India पिछले कुछ सालों से follow कर रहा है।
India:
Israel से defence ties रखता है
Gulf countries से energy ties
Iran से strategic connectivity interests
इसलिए Delhi किसी extreme position से बच रहा है।

क्या BRICS अंदर से कमजोर हो रहा है?
ये सवाल अब seriously पूछा जा रहा है।
BRICS को अक्सर “Global South की आवाज” कहा जाता है।
लेकिन अगर इतने बड़े geopolitical issue पर भी common stand नहीं बन पा रहा, तो bloc की unity पर सवाल उठेंगे।
Especially तब, जब: China और Russia US influence को challenge करना चाहते हैं
जबकि कुछ members ज्यादा cautious diplomacy चाहते हैं

इसका Global Impact क्या हो सकता है?
West Asia conflict सिर्फ regional issue नहीं है।
इसका असर:
Oil prices
Global trade
Inflation
Supply chains
सब पर पड़ रहा है।
अगर BRICS internally divided दिखता है, तो future में global negotiations में उसकी collective bargaining power कमजोर हो सकती है।

India के लिए ये challenge भी है और opportunity भी
India अभी BRICS chair कर रहा है।
ऐसे में consensus manage करना उसकी diplomatic test बन गया है।
लेकिन दूसरी तरफ: 👉 यही मौका India को “neutral bridge power” की image भी दे सकता है।
यानी:
West और Global South के बीच balance
Middle East rivals के बीच communication
Multi-alignment diplomacy

Final Thoughts
BRICS की सबसे बड़ी strength उसकी diversity मानी जाती है।
लेकिन वही diversity अब उसकी सबसे बड़ी weakness भी बन सकती है।
West Asia war ने ये दिखा दिया कि: 👉 BRICS economic platform तो बन सकता है
👉 लेकिन geopolitical unity अभी भी आसान नहीं है।
और शायद आने वाले सालों में यही BRICS की सबसे बड़ी challenge बनने वाली है।
